Stream Keeper

In Sussex woods where shadows lean,

There flows a stream so pure, so clean.

Its waters shine with ancient grace,

A secret held in nature’s place.

No hand may touch, no heart may take,

Unless it comes for kindness’ sake.

The Stream Keeper, with horn and beard,

Stands watch where forest paths are cleared.

He guards the flow with silent might,

By moss and moon and morning light.

And those who drink with soul sincere,

May find the forest drawing near.
