Twilight Steps-Lantern

A lantern swings from twisted limb,

Its amber glow both soft and dim.

It lights the path of root and wood

Where dusk has settled, still and stood.

Each step ascends through moss and mist,

A trail the forest can't resist.

The trees lean close, their branches bare,

To watch the light that flickers there.

No voice is heard, no creature stirs,

Just hush and flame and ancient firs.

So climb with care, and heed the flame

It marks the way—no stumble, no pain.
